Sweet Miss Givings

Sweet Miss Giving’s was founded by Rev. Stan Sloan, an Episcopal priest and long-time CEO of Chicago House, the first provider of AIDS housing in the Midwest.   Sweet Miss Giving’s is Stan’s vision for how to create a pathway to jobs for the homeless – while also helping to fund Chicago House’s support services.

Stan’s sweet tooth and enterprising spirit helped rally the best bakers, businessmen, and builders around this idea, and on October 23, 2008 opened up Sweet Miss Giving’s. For two years, Stan organized his team around this simple idea: to build a company that was “Unquestionably Kind” and “Unreasonably Good.”

The made-from-scratch and preservative free goodies are unreasonably good and made by unquestionably kind people. 50% of all of our profits from our bakery and Chicago French Market retail location go to help formerly homeless and disability-affected men, women, and children. The bakery and retail space also double as a comprehensive jobs program. This means at any given time a dozen or so people from our program are getting real world training and experience in the kitchen and in retail sales.

Sweet Miss Giving’s offers a wide range of packaging, gifting, and delivery options perfect to serve everything from big events to small daily cravings and its Chicago French Market location is a great fix for coffee and sweets.
